Innsbruck is the only provincial capital where you can reach an altitude of over 2,000 metres from the city centre in around 20 minutes. From the Basic Hotel, you can take the tram or walk to the Hungerburgbahn, and from there continue by cable car to the Seegrube and the Hafelekar.

Hafelekar: 2 ,256 m – the highest point, just a few minutes’ walk from the cable car station
Walks to suit all levels: from the leisurely panoramic trail at Seegrube to the Karrinne trail for experienced walkers. The Zirbenweg trail on the Patscherkofel opposite is also a classic and can be reached by public transport.
The Nordkette is renowned for its steep descents and the freeride scene. For a more relaxed skiing experience, try the Patscherkofel, Axamer Lizum, Muttereralm or the Stubai Glacier – all part of the Olympiaregion Seefeld or Innsbruck ski area.
