Tips for your stay in Innsbruck
From the Basic Hotel, almost everything is within walking distance. Here are a few recommendations from our team – not a must-do list, but simply the things our guests most frequently recommend to others.
- The Old Town with the Golden Roof – a minute’s walk away; it’s at its best early in the morning, before the narrow streets get busy
- Inn Promenade – a stroll or a run along the riverbank, with views of the colourful houses on Mariahilfstraße
- Markthalle – regional produce, coffee and lunch, just a few minutes’ walk away
- Maria-Theresien-Straße – shopping with mountain views; looking south, the Nordkette range comes into view
The Hungerburgbahn takes you up from the city centre in just a few minutes – from there, the cable car continues on to the Seegrube and the Hafelekar. In summer for hiking, in winter for skiing, and all year round for the view over Innsbruck.

Swarovski Crystal Worlds in Wattens, Ambras Castle, the Zirbenweg hike on the Patscherkofel or a day out in the Stubai Valley – all these destinations can be reached by public transport.
